2009 AWBA Nationals Info and Registration Forms

American Wheelchair Bowling Assoc., Inc.
48th National Championship Tournament
Paulding Lanes, Dallas, GA
June 15-20, 2009

AWBA Members and Friends,

On behalf of our Paulding County Southern Open sponsors, the National Paralyzed Veterans of America, and other sponsorships, I extend this invitation to attend our annual National Championship Tournament. The tournament committee has worked extremely hard to make this week enjoyable for each of you. I am honored to host the 48th National, being held for the first time in Dallas, GA. Hopefully, you will have time to do some sightseeing, renew past acquaintances, and create new friendships during the week of bowling and social activities.

Paulding Lanes will host all bowling events. It is a Brunswick facility with 24 synthetic lanes, and we have had tremendous support from the staff. We hope the entries exceed 60 competitors. In that event, we will bowl shifts for the singles competition, which has been done successfully in previous Nationals several times.

If shifts are required, you should state your preference as to which group you would like to be assigned, regardless of divisional placement. Further, if you are traveling with someone, you should both opt for the same group. Group A will bowl early on Thursday and late on Friday, Group B will bowl late on Thursday and early on Friday. An appropriate schedule will be sent with confirmation information once your entry is processed.

We are using the Country Inn & Suites as our host hotel [(770-222-0456) - when calling mention our block for AWBA Wheelchair Tournament]. There are a number of handicap rooms in other motels near the bowling center at very affordable rates, listed on the back of this sheet. We fully expect that these hotels/motels will treat each of you with great service and southern hospitality

I recommend that you make your reservations at your earliest convenience, using the motel information that is included on the reverse side of this page. Most chains offered accommodations in the vicinity of Dallas, and we recommend you check those out using the specific website offered by them on the internet. We have a number of fine restaurants near the bowling center for your convenience as well.

The tournament committee is not handling transportation to the hotel or bowling center. If you plan on traveling by air to this area, you may fly into Atlanta. Also, it will be helpful if those of you who are driving would consider providing buddy rides back and forth from the lanes for some of your transportation-challenged friends.

As tournament director, I hope that each of you consider joining us this year. Even better, bring a bowling friend along with you. It would be great to have a large turnout and make this one of our most memorable celebrations for our 48th Annual National Championship Tournament.

Yours in fellowship,

Harold Bowman, Tournament Director
