19TH ANNUAL FRED DOTY CLASSIC...

Fellow AWBA Members:

As Tournament Director to the “19th Annual Fred Doty Classic”, I would like to extend an invitation to all of you to participate in this year’s event. The tournament will return once again to Indian River Lanes, Virginia Beach, Virginia. This tournament is named after the co-founder of the Free-Wheelers wheelchair-bowling league who passed away in 1991, it is dedicated to his love of bowling and all the hard work he put forth-organizing wheel chair bowling in this area. This year we will again have a Novice division for new bowlers without an average. They will receive participation trophies.

All events will be sanctioned with the AWBA and USBC. I hope that you will consider attending and bring a friend along as well. There will be an UP and DOWN event again this year, and the doubles event will be Pins-over-Average. The UP and DOWN event was a great success last year and we NEED your participation again this year.

The Lake Wright Hotel will be used as Headquarters. Please call (757)461-6251 or (800)228-5157 for reservations and advise the reservation desk that you are with the FRED DOTY CLASSIC BOWLING TOURNAMENT. Room rates are $79.00 a day breakfast included and $99 per day for suites that will sleep more that two per room this includes breakfast. Just mention the FRED DOTY WHEELCHAIR CLASSIC to get these rates. These rates are valid three days before and three days after our event dates. ROOMS MUST BE RESERVED BY February 26TH TO ENSURE THIS SPECIAL RATE. The Tournament Committee will not be handling room reservations. There will not be any transportation from the hotel to the bowling center. Please plan accordingly.
